SOFIA, Bulgaria — At the invitation of President Blair S. Bennett and his wife, Sister Mary Jane Bennett, parents and their children gathered in the Bulgaria Sofia Mission home Dec. 2.
The evening included a message aimed at strengthening families, with parents taught various virtues and principles in raising children. President Bennett closed the evening by encouraging the couples to meet several times a year to foster friendships and strengthen marriages.
The families met in a festively decorated hall and around tables filled with food. The members greeted each other and became became better acquainted with their fellow members of the Church in Bulgaria. They exchanged telephone numbers and addresses.
Children were entertained by missionaries in a variety of games and with treats. A polished performance by a missionary choir set the stage for a spiritual evening.
President and Sister Bennet were accompanied by senior missionaries and other full-time missionaries, as well as several families, as they hosted the event.
