New Era
October 2007
Enduring to the Beginning by Maria Kaneva

<< Story link (.pdf) >>
It took seven years to join the Church, but it was worth the wait.

If you know Maria Kaneva, her conversion story is featured in the October 2007 New Era magazine.  Judging by the photos in the article, it looks like she was baptized at the mission home in Sofia and attends the Sliven Branch, which was not in existence when I served in Bulgaria.

Although I did not know her, I was pleasantly surprised to read about one of the Bulgarian Saints in a church publication.  I would like to see more of these  Grin

Thanks for sharing that link. I agree it's nice to read an article about Bulgaria in one of the church magazines. Although I was serving my mission when she was baptized, I didn't serve in Sliven and therefore don't know her either. But I really enjoyed the pictures in the article. They brought back a lot of memories and made we wish I was back in Bulgaria again.

This is a bit off topic, but it was also nice to here a shout out from the pulpit during Conference.  President Hinckley mentioned Bulgaria.  Woohoo!!!  We're in the New Era and on TV.  But don't worry.  We won't let popularity go to our heads.   Grin

I cheered when I heard this.  I'm so glad BG got a mention.  I hope the members were happy about it.  YAY Bulgaria!
